The final round of the East Coast Logistics Sprintcar Series was held at Archerfield Speedway on Saturday 4^th June.

Time trials saw us going onto the track in the 4^th group – once again it was hot laps and time trials combined. I got second quickest in my group with a 12.570 which was great for the last show of the year. The other groups that went out after us didn’t manage to beat our times, so we qualified 2^nd overall.

I started from 7^th in Heat 1, as it was inverted with the quickest qualifying time to the rear. I had a good start and made my way into 4^th position but pushed a bit too hard into turn 3 and spun the car out. I managed to keep the engine going and drove back onto the track and had to come back through again from 7^th. I just managed to finish 4^th which was good considering I spun out.

Heat 2, I was 1^st overall in points so I had to start from 7^th again. This time I managed to keep it straight and finished in 2^nd position.

Dash was a bronze, silver and gold shootout – as I was the highest on points (sitting in 1^st place overall) I came out last. They ripped the track, so it was completely different to the heats. I managed to get 3^rd fastest time which means I started the feature from 3^rd place.

Starting the feature race on the second row, I just sat in 3^rd place getting a feel for the track. The car felt great and I was gaining on the front 2 which was good as I knew I had good pace.

We got to lap traffic around lap 10 or so, which really turned it into a race and the 3 of us traded places lap after lap. I managed to get into first place on about lap 12 but then lost it on lap 13, only to get it back again on the very next lap.

I then drove it in too hot and missed my marks and fell back to 3^rd place again. With about 5 laps to go someone spun out so the yellow came on. I gave it everything I had but couldn’t manage to get up any further than 3^rd.

Very happy to finish the last race of the season on the podium in 3^rd place!!
